I got this set to help teach my daughter in homeschool. It’s a regular fake money set. I do like the wooden holder, only wish there was a lid for it of some kind. My only con really is sometimes the grey (since they’re not any where near metallic) coins are hard to differentiate for my daughterThis is what we needed to help the kids learn about money through play. Like most, I do which it had a cover. The set is nice and I like that it came with half dollars. However, a lid for the box (like the Melissa and Doug wooden puzzles) would of been nice.Really great quality and durability for our homeschool classroom! We kept having to empty our coin jug to let him play with change but money is so dirty and it began to be tedious. But he loves it! Thankfully he didn’t just rip up the paper money, he actually cares about it. And yesterday we got him a register and he’s been obsessed.Purchased to teach my 4yo about money. I did like that it at least came with a tray for some organization when comparing to other options. Why I took away stars: First: No Lid makes it awkward to store. I knew there would not be a lid included, but it would have been nice if it at least came in its own puzzle-type box. Or, have a plastic slide in lid - like the Melissa and Doug letter magnet set we have.Second: The coins are a dark color with no sheen, which makes the quarters, nickels, and dimes difficult to distinguish from one another. The stock photo is deceptive.I bought these for my daughter so she could learn about our currency. They're pretty accurate. They don't have the names of the presidents on the bills, but their faces are on there and the backs of the bills show the buildings, etc. that you'd see on real money. The coins also have the faces and buildings, etc. that are typically on coins. Usually play money doesn't have anything like that. They come in a nice wooden tray too, which has an image stamped on the bottom of each compartment for each denomination. I highly recommend this if you're looking for a quality set of play money.Bought this specifically to help teach my daughter count. So I was only after it for the Pennie’s to start. And just decided on this instead of fake coins. Melissa and Doug hasn’t let us down yet so we shall see.
